I haven’t ever seen so red auroras before! Also Venus and thin crescent Moon (with Earthshine) were visible in western sky. When looking at the photos, the auroras appeared very intensively red! Soon clouds had gone away, and I was able to see the auroras clearly. There was some auroras visible from the gaps of the clouds, and the clouds were slowly moving away. That’s why I couldn’t see the rocket clouds. When I arrived at my observing site, a nearby farmland area, northern sky was covered with thick layer of low clouds. I tried to see, if the blue barium clouds released during the experiment would be visible in Karhukamera, but I couldn’t see them because of heavy cloudiness. The caller told me, that he had observed some blue lights in the sky, I immediately knew that the anticipated Kiruna rocket launch had finally happened. In the evening of 23rd of March 2023 I received a phone call from someone in northern Finland.
